Past The End
A story-driven 2D Adventure RPG with no random encounters, dense exploration, and side quests that leave permanent marks on the world—even when the main story stays the same.
Key Features
Handcrafted Battles
No random encounters, no filler. Every battle is authored by hand with its own enemy composition, gimmicks, and purpose in the story.
World That Remembers
Side quests and small choices don’t rewrite the main plot, but they do change how people talk to you, how places look, and how the world feels when you return.
Exploration-Driven Progression
No traditional leveling or grind. Grow stronger by exploring, finding permanent stat boosts, earning spellbooks, and engaging with side stories.

About the Game
Past The End is a narrative 2D Adventure RPG about what you can change in a world where not everything can be changed.
You play as Sam, a young woman traveling with her companions to find four elemental crystals and seal the Void, hoping to stop the Crimson Decay that’s slowly consuming her mother. On the surface, it looks like a classic late-SNES / GBA-style adventure—but it’s built around dense maps, authored encounters, and systems that reward curiosity over grinding.
There are no random battles and no XP-based level system. Instead, you find Power Tabs that permanently boost stats, equipment hidden in chests, and spellbooks that add new abilities when equipped. Most of these are earned not by farming enemies, but by exploring the world and following side stories to their conclusions.
The main story follows a single, intentional through-line, but the world around it is reactive. Characters remember what you’ve done, small choices echo later, and side quests leave lasting traces. You can’t change the destination, but you can absolutely change the journey and the people you meet along the way.
The current release (“Chapter 1.5”) includes the full first chapter and the first half of Chapter 2 from a planned four-chapter story plus a post-game epilogue. It’s a complete opening arc on its own, with ~2.5–3 hours of play for the main path and up to ~6 hours if you chase most of the side content. The larger project is currently on indefinite pause, but this slice stands as a finished, tightly designed experience.
