Song of the Day (the "App") is a personal music diary application operated by Made by Skows LLC ("we," "us," or "our").
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the App. By using Song of the Day, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address
- Username
- Optional display name and profile picture
- Optional bio and pronouns
- Optional birthday month and day (no birth year)
1.2 User Content
We collect and store the content you create in the App, including:
- Daily song entries (track, artist, and album metadata)
- Optional captions, Vibes, and post photos
- Your personal post calendar
- Likes and emoji reactions
- Messages and song recommendations you send
This content is associated with your account and used by the App's social features. Messages and song recommendations are delivered to the people or conversations you choose.
Basic profile details remain available to other signed-in users, including when your account is private: username, display name, profile photo, bio, pronouns, selected badges and frame, and birthday month and day if supplied. Private Account controls follow requests; the in-app FAQ explains current visibility behavior.
1.3 Social & Interaction Data
We collect information related to your interactions within the App, such as:
- Followers, follow requests, friends, and other connections
- Likes, emoji reactions, and activity history
- Blocked and muted accounts
- App settings and notification preferences
- Notifications related to social activity (if enabled)
1.4 Device & Technical Information
We collect limited technical information necessary to operate the App, including:
- Device identifiers such as push notification tokens
- Device type, operating system, app version, and app update information
- Crash reports and account-linked diagnostic context
- Timezone information used to schedule notifications
This information is used to deliver notifications, fix bugs, and improve performance.
1.5 Music Services
Song of the Day uses Apple Music and iTunes services to search for songs and display track metadata, artwork, and available previews. Full songs open in Apple Music or Spotify when you choose a music-app link.
We do not collect or store passwords or login credentials for third-party music services.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Display your posts, calendar, and profile
- Enable reactions, messages, song recommendations, and connections
- Calculate streaks, statistics, badges, and music matches
- Send push notifications about activity and updates (if enabled)
- Maintain security and prevent misuse
- Improve the App's features and performance
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
3. Third-Party Services
Song of the Day uses third-party services to operate core functionality, including:
- Firebase (Google) – authentication, database, storage, hosting, and crash reporting
- Expo – app builds, app updates, and push notification delivery
- Apple and Google notification services – device notification delivery
- Apple Music / iTunes – song search, metadata, artwork, and available previews
- Apple Music or Spotify – full songs opened through music-app links you choose
These services may process information in accordance with their own privacy policies.
4. Data Storage & Retention
Your account data and content are stored on secure servers provided by our service partners.
We retain your data for as long as your account remains active.
You may:
- Delete individual posts at any time within the App
- Delete your account from the App's settings
When you delete your account, your profile and associated content will be deleted within a reasonable time, subject to any data we are legally required to retain for security or compliance purposes.
Uninstalling the App does not automatically delete your account or server-stored data.
5. Children's Privacy
Song of the Day is intended for users 13 years of age and older.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us so we can remove the account and associated data.
6. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data.
For users in the European Economic Area (GDPR):

- Access the personal data we hold about you
